Volunteering and staying at a genuine Nepalese family?
The Diamond Hill Academy is a private school and the only English Primary school in Gaunsahar. It was founded in 2008 by Deb Bahadur Gurung, teacher from a local government school in Lamjung. It's students are in age groups 3 to 13 years. In recent years the school has grown to a number of nearly 100 pupils and seven teachers. All teachers are certified in teaching different subjects, from English and Nepali language to mathematics and geometry.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers that like to life the Nepali rural life and teach young children, for shorter or longer period(s) of time.

People that like to come to Diamond Hill:
  • Speak English (basic is sufficient),
  • Have at least some basic computer skills,
  • Are friendly, and open to the Nepalese culture.
There are no constrains to age nor to nationality, also there will be no teaching experience required. Volunteering is not mandatory nor is the time spent at school.
